Erie County Voucher Program

The Erie County Department of Environment & Planning funds a program for Erie County residents to dispose up to 50-lbs. of acceptable household hazardous waste (HHW) free-of-charge at Hazman (177 Wales Ave. Tonawanda NY). One voucher per appointment.

Program Instructions:
• Complete the registration process, agree to the program requirements and select a date to drop-off your items.
• Print confirmation e-mail with the five digit number or save a copy to your phone/ devices ease of access on the day of drop-off. Proof of residency is required (i.e. driver license, utility bill).
• Prior to accumulation and loading the materials into vehicle, review for items not included in the program and are subjected to a fee for disposal.

Eligibility and Exclusions: Please review prior to registering for your voucher:

• Covers a maximum of 50-Lbs. of eligible materials at NO COST.
• Participants are responsible for all expenses related to ineligible materials and weight exceeding 50-Lbs.
• Limited to one voucher per Erie County household per year.
• Does not include, waste for businesses, institutions, and non-for-profit organizations.
• Does not include, material over 50-Lbs. unacceptable items and multiple vouchers cannot be combined.
• This program is funded by Erie County
Unacceptable Voucher Items/Additional Fees:

• Exceedance over 50-Lbs. subjected to $1.50/lb. fee
• Electronics $0.50/lb. fee
• Fire Extinguishers $10.00/ unit
• Propane Tanks $5.00/ small $10.00/Large
• Tires (No Rims) $10.00/unit $25.00/unit with rim
• Mercury $60.00/lb
• Thermometers/Thermostats $15.00/unit
• Refrigerators/Freezers $50.00/unit
• Air Conditioners $25.00
• Dehumidifiers $25.00
