When is Hazman open?
Hazman is open Monday through Saturday.
The times are as follows:
Monday 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM
Tuesday 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM
Wednesday 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM
Thursday 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM
Friday 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM

Where is the Hazman HHW Drop-off Center?
The Hazman HHW Drop-off Center is located in the City of Tonawanda at 177 Wales Ave. Tonawanda, NY 14150.
Driving Directions:
- Take the 290 to RT-425 / Colvin Blvd. (Exit 2)
- Head North on RT-425 / Colvin Blvd.
- Turn Right on Fillmore Ave.
- Take the first Left onto Wales Ave.
- The Hazman HHW Drop-off Center will be on your right - Look for the sign!
How much does it cost to drop-off my HHW?
Three factors determine the cost of recycling and disposal:
- weight
- quantity
- type of material
Most items cost $1.50 per pound; however, there are exceptions for specialty items.
The typical Hazman customer has 80 pounds of household hazardous waste, spending an average of $120.00.

Payment is acceptable by cash, check, and most credit cards.
What happens to the HHW after I drop it off?
Household Hazardous Waste items do NOT end up in a landfill. 99% of the material accepted by Hazman is recycled or reused.
Hazman safely handles HHW through a specific process.
1. The material is identified and accepted at the Hazman Drop-Off Center.
2. Our chemist sorts and segregates material based on chemical and physical characteristics.
3. The material is consolidated into drums, pails, or cubic yard boxes for shipping.
4. Various facilities receive the containers to begin treatment and recycling.
Does Hazman accept prescription drugs and/or Sharps/needles?
Hazman does not accept prescription drugs or needles.
